Latitude 32 Credit Union, a $53 million-asset institution based in Charleston, S.C., announced that its board has appointed Marcus Rhymer as its new president and CEO, effective October 1, 2016.
Rhymer, who has served as Latitude 32's indirect lending manager since May 2001, succeeds CEO Brad Rustin, who is retiring this month. The outgoing Rustin has served as president and CEO of Latitude 32 since August 1985. Under his leadership, the credit union grew from $11 million to $52.8 million in total assets.
Rhymer is an active member of the Carolinas Credit Union League, CU Aware and the Low Country Chapter of Credit Unions, where he serves as Secretary. The East Tennessee State University graduate is a Life Member of the ETSU Alumni Association and a 2015 graduate of the Southeastern Regional Management School at the University of Georgia, with honors.
"Marcus is a 15-year veteran of our credit union who will bring his own creative approach to take Latitude 32 to the next level," said chairperson Billy Hudson in a statement. "Marcus has made many valuable contributions to Latitude 32, building strong teams and leading and growing our indirect lending business."
