PORTLAND, Ore. – A middle-aged robber who favors institutions up and down the Columbia River has apparently struck again, this time at Albina Community CU.
The so-called River Rat Robber, wanted in six area heists, walked into the credit union and ordered everyone to the ground while displaying a black handgun and leaped over the teller counter to get to the cash drawers.
In each case, the man entered the institution, displayed a black handgun and demanded cash. In several cases, he leaped onto or over the teller counter to get to the cash.
He is also suspected in robberies at two branches of Columbia Bank, two of Riverview Community Bank and one Key Bank.
