Robber's Getaway Foiled By Pet Door

MILWAUKIE, Ore. – A suspect who tried a carjacking after robbing an Oregonian FCU branch yesterday was caught in the dog door of a home while trying to escape police.

The suspect wore a black face mask and was carrying a gun. After he left a witness told police he tried to open the door of a red Ford Taurus in a getaway attempt. Deputies chased him on foot, and found him several blocks away as he was trying to enter a home on SE Carla Court through a dog door, police said.

The suspect, identified as Michael Moore, 44, was taken into custody after officers used a Taser on him, since he was believed to be armed.

Moore already was on probation for a bank previous robbery.
