ALLENTOWN, Penn. – Two men were sentenced to prison Tuesday for their roles in a 2007 armed robbery at First Class FCU when they pistol-whipped the president of the credit union before making off with almost $70,000.
Asharif Tansmore, 36, of Philadelphia and Terrance Meitzler, 31, of Allentown, each received sentences of three to six years in state prison.
Tansmore, Meitzler and three other men robbed the credit union on Sept. 17, 2007, stealing $67,700. During the robbery, the credit union president was struck on the head with a gun, police said.
Adrian Glasgow, 32, and Chris Mason, 33, both of Allentown, also pleaded guilty to robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery for the holdup. Glasgow was sentenced in July to five to 10 years in prison and four consecutive years of probation. Mason was sentenced in August to five-and-a-half to 11 years in prison.
Another co-defendant, 37-year-old Gregory Brown, was sentenced in July to seven to 14 years in prison for his role in that robbery and for holding up the Paragon FCU in nearby Bethlehem of more than $150,000 in November 2006.
