SUPERIOR, Wis. - (04/13/05) -- A 47-year-old local man wassentenced to nine years in jail Monday after pleading no contest tolast December's armed robbery of $6,000 from Superior Community CU.Thomas Burke handed the teller a demand note stating her lifedepended on handing over cash, then reached toward his pocket,implying he had a gun, though he was unarmed at the time, policesaid. Burke was arrested less than an hour later. Burke is expectedto spend five years in prison, with four years of supervisedrelease.
