CORTEZ, Colo. - (03/08/06) -- A mother and daughter awaiting trialin last year's $105,000 robbery at Southwest Colorado FCU werefound guilty last week of stealing horses in Utah and Kansas in2000 and 2002. Sharon Vaughn, 62, and her daughter Danja Vaughn rana horse breeding operation in El Paso County and were accused ofstealing horses to run their business. Both women are charged withthe May 24, 2005 credit union robbery, when $105,245 in cash wasstolen. Both women were arrested after the robbery following failedsuicide attempts. The suicide attempts followed a search of theirhome when police found $85,494 in cash from the credit unionrobbery.
