EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Royal CU has deployed Passfaces Corp.’s online authentication system that requires members to identify pre-approved faces to log on to their Internet banking.
Passfaces is based on peoples’ innate ability to recognize familiar faces, so unlike passwords or answers to challenge questions, they are almost never forgotten. Unlike hardware or software tokens, there is nothing to lose or go wrong, the company said. The system’s graphical interface also provides built-in anti-phishing protection that does not require user training.
The credit union has more than 35,000 users of its online banking service.
