RTN FCU and W-G FCU in Massachusetts to Merge

Members of W-G FCU in Worcester, Mass., have voted to approve a merger with RTN Federal Credit Union in Waltham, Mass.

Following the vote on Oct. 15, the merger is expected to close on Nov. 1.

The $821.4 million-asset RTN FCU has about 50,000 members and operates 19 branches in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Tennessee. RTN was founded in 1945.

The $12.1 million-asset W-G FCU has one branch in Worcester. W-G was founded in 1981 as Wyman Gordon Employees CU.

“This is an exciting opportunity to expand RTN’s branch footprint, and expand and diversify our membership base,” Richard Wright, RTN's chief executive, said in a news release.

The merger will give W-G FCU's members access to an expanded offering of mortgage and loan products, the institutions said in the release.
