TOPEKA, Kan. – A star running back here has been charged with robbing a branch of Envista Credit Union.
Vershon Darnell Moore, 20, a running back with Washburn University’s football team, was charged with aggravated robbery after allegedly approaching two employees who were outside the branch filling an ATM with cash and pointing a gun at them. The employees captured the vehicle’s tag number, and police have alleged that Moore was driving the vehicle at the time of the robbery. The police added that a gun and money have been recovered.
Moore was first team All-MIAA in 2010 as a sophomore, when he led the conference in rushing with 1,007 yards.
