DES MOINES, IowaAfter 23 years with The Members Group, Jeff Russell is moving on, taking over as CEO of insurance company Delta Dental of Iowa here on May 3.Russell, CEO of TMG Financial Services and senior advisor for The Members Group, will serve his last day at TMG April 26. Patrick Jury, CEO of the Iowa Credit Union League, will serve as acting CEO of TMG Financial Services while an executive search begins for the new CEO of TMG-FS.
“I have been with TMG for more than 20 years and it has been a fantastic opportunity for me both personally and professionally,” Russell told Credit Union Journal. “But I have found an opportunity with a great company in a little different industry, and I plan to help the company work through a transformational time in its industry.”
Russell was referring to all the regulations that are coming down from the Affordable Care Act. “The health insurance industry is facing a shift from an era in which companies have been responsible for their employees’ healthcare to a time when individuals will be more responsible for their own health insurance.”
The Iowa league’s Jury said, “Jeff has been engaged in nearly all aspects of our combined organizations through the years. He has been engaged in marketing, technology, executive leadership, and strategy, among others. I would say Jeff's greatest strengths were strategic vision and being able to understand possible futures,’ and supporting our aspirations to reach alternative futures with credit unions. This has been particularly important in a dynamic and highly regulated industry.”
