EUGENE, Ore.-SELCO Community CU has awarded 95 Mini-Grants of up to $250 to supplement funding to K-12 classrooms in the communities the credit union serves.
The entries were evaluated for their educational impact, responsible use of funds, and number of students who would benefit from the project. This year's grants were focused on building a number of academic skills, including reading, math, science, history and environmental studies.
The $840 million credit union has awarded Mini-Grants for 16 years, originally as a response to local school budget cuts.
