Service CU Breaks Ground On New Headquarters

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Service CU on Tuesday broke ground on a 100,000-square-foot, 17-acre headquarters.

The new headquarters will replace the $1.8 billion credit union’s current 19,000-square-foot offices and will have an LEED environmentally friendly rating.

The new corporate offices will be designed and built using strategies intended to improve performance in energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction and improved indoor environmental quality. Some of LEED elements of the building include skylights, geothermal heating and natural sunlight.

The four-story building will feature a full service, 24/7 member service call center, foreign exchange, member check imaging, processing and control, finance, and three community rooms. Initially it will house 60 employees, with plans to add as many as 40 more over the next five years.

The project is scheduled for completion in fall of 2012.
