Shell FCU Reaches Out To Young Adults

DEER PARK, Texas–Shell Federal Credit Union has launched an exciting new youth program called iLife.  iLife is different from other credit union related youth sites because it contains a strong focus and participation in community involvement and social responsibility.  Young adults are encouraged and offered avenues of opportunities to participate in such events with the credit union under the Shell FCU (Further Community Unity) team.

iLife also provides tools such as financial education, credit union basics, blogs, podcasts as well as, products/services designed for this age group such as first time car buyer programs, savings account and checking.

“iLife will not only provide valuable financial services and information to younger members but also show them how volunteerism can positively affect not only the recipient but those who donate their time as well” explains CEO Jose Rodriguez.  “Secondly, we want to build lasting relationships with young people today so when they are ready to make their first financial decision, we are in their minds as the area industry leader” continues Rodriguez.

Partnering with PMD Marketing Inc. and PTP New Media for their expertise Shell FCU performed market research, conducted a focus group and those dedicated to the project feel the site and information will entice the target market to share the information and participation with friends.

iLife will springboard into life at the start of the new school year.  Currently, Shell Federal Credit Union has two high school branches which will be a great place to get the program off the ground.  For more information, please go to www.sfcuilife.org or call 713-844-1141.
