Shining A Light On Solar Power

EAST WINDSOR, N.J.–In an effort to boost awareness about renewable energy and an innovative solar panel project at The McGraw-Hill Companies’ offices, McGraw-Hill FCU has launched a multi-pronged solar energy awareness campaign that includes a website, Facebook updates, and presentations at the CU’s Financial Literacy Series.

The new website, accessible through www.SolarCD.org, provides background on McGraw-Hill Companies’ solar energy project, facts and tips for those considering the use of solar energy, and links to external websites for a more comprehensive insight into solar energy.

The McGraw-Hill Companies are constructing one of the nation’s largest solar energy projects on its property in Hightstown, N.J. The solar project will generate 14.1 megawatts of energy and significantly offset the need for other energy sources to run its offices in East Windsor, including the company’s growing data center.

“It is truly a comprehensive source for individuals who care about the environment and want to educate themselves on what they can do to support the environment,” said MHFCU CEO Shawn Gilfedder. “We were eager to support this initiative by showing our members how to make a difference and created www.SolarCD.org as a resource to get them started.”

Some 160 Solar CDs have since been opened.
