SEATTLE – The U.S. Small Business Administration announced yesterday the appointment of Calvin Goings, a senior advisor with the Washington CU League, as its regional administrator for the northwest, overseeing Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.

As senior advisor to the league, Goings focuses on supporting small businesses and emerging markets. He also held elected office for two decades, including a stint as a Washington state senator.
The SBA has become increasingly important for credit unions, with more than 150 credit unions participating in one or more of the agency’s guaranteed loans programs.
