Smarty ATM Speaks Spanish To Users

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis Area Teachers' CU has introduced a Spanish language ATM, dubbed Smarty ATM, in El Mercadito, the city's first fully Hispanic-owned marketplace. The marketplace specializes in Mexican imports and includes more than 50 businesses. The Spanish language cash machine is an outgrowth of the credit union's continuing efforts to reach out to the area's growing Hispanic population. Those efforts include the reformatting of brochures, telephone options and ATMs with Spanish options, as well as the addition of Spanish-speaking representatives.
