SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Teachers CU announced yesterday its long-time CEO Steven Dahlstrom is retiring at year-end and will be succeeded by the credit union’s vice president of administration Thomas Johnson.
Dahlstrom, 58, has been with the credit union for 30 years, the last 20 as CEO, building it into a $1.4 billion institution.
The credit union reported a strong $9.1 million net in 2009, even after a $7.2 million charge for the corporate credit union bailout, and a $3.1 million net for the first quarter of 2010.
Johnson has been on the credit union’s board for 12 years and was a vice president at Whitworth University from 1989 to 2006.
