State Regulators Meet With CUs In Northwest

Dozens of credit unions and representatives of NCUA, NASCUS, league and state officials turned out here for a series of meetings hosted by the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services and the Washington league. Meetings were also held in Seattle.

Among those on hand were Mary Martha Fortney, executive director of the NASCUS, Texas regulator Harold Feeney, Washington regulator Linda Jekel and Wisconsin regulator Ginger Larson, all of whom spoke to the gathering. Issues ranged from strategic and legislative initiatives to secondary capital to credit union taxation proposals.

Also on hand were NCUA Region V Director Melinda Love, CUNA Governmental Affairs Vice Chairman Don Larsen, Washington League President John Annaloro, and Elliot Gregg of the Washington Government Affairs Committee.
