SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Sunmark FCU on Friday announced it will begin encouraging its members to take out home equity loans and use the money to pay for energy improvement products.
The program is called “Members Helping Members” and also involves the credit union distributing 200 energy kits to qualifying members. The kits contain a caulking gun, tubes of caulk, window rope caulk and window wrap, among other items aimed at reducing heating bills.
Sunmark plans to offer an automobile loan rate reduction for qualifying applicants who are buying a more fuel efficient vehicle than what they currently drive.
