GAINSEVILLE, Fla. – The North Central Florida YMCA said last week it has received an emergency $200,000 line of credit from Sunstate FCU that will allow it to pay employees who did not receive their money earlier this month.
Financial difficulties have forced the YMCA to cut payroll expenses by about a third in the past six months by cutting jobs and by shutting its Lake City facility in August.
The loan will be used to bolster payroll, pay off outstanding payables, and to reserve against any possible unforeseen circumstances, YMCA officials said.
