Suspect Charged In Brazen Theft Of Franklin Mint FCU ATM Inside Hospital

PHILADELPHIA — A suspected local drug dealer was charged Friday with the September theft of a Franklin Mint FCU ATM from inside the Delaware County Memorial Hospital with almost $100,000 of cash inside.

Authorities believe Ian Golden, 32, was one of two men seen on a surveillance video at the Upper Darby hospital where the cash machine was stolen. One suspect is seen pushing a hand dolly on which they loaded the 780-pound ATM and the other is carrying a clipboard. The credit union was notified of a power surge shortly before 9 p.m., when the two men cut the access wiring to remove the machine.

The ATM machine, which held an estimated $96,000, and van used to transport machine were later found in Philadelphia after being set on fire. All of the cash inside the ATM was missing.
