KELSO, Ore. – An Astoria man confessed to robbing a Fibre FCU branch here, then spraying the employees with pepper spray before driving to a nearby community and robbing a bank there.

After spraying the credit union employees he left the credit union with a bag of cash, then bid two men outside the credit union, “Good day, gentlemen.”
Within an hour, a robber wearing the same clothes as the suspect struck a Bank of America branch in Centralia. During that crime, police said the robber shot a round into the ceiling. He did not pepper spray anyone.
Police said Ely Krouse, 28, confessed to the two robberies. He recently was arrested for allegedly robbing a local pharmacy at gunpoint.
