SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse Cooperative FCU on Friday announced it is partnering with the city to create a development loan fund to assist minority and women contractors.

The program aims to help minority and women contractors in the city sustain and expand their businesses by providing short-term, work-capital loans.
The community development credit union has agreed to dedicate $125,000 to the fund it is obtaining via a grant from the Empire State Development Corp. The Syracuse Economic Development Corp. will provide $50,000 in start-up funding.
