Teacher FCU Now TruStone Financal CU

MINNEAPOLIS – Fast-growing Teacher FCU, the state’s sixth largest credit union, said it is changing its name to TruStone Financial CU.

The $600 million credit union, which is opening two new branches, worked with Strategic Name Development in developing the new brand.

"TruStone is pronounced ‘true stone,’ but also distinctly includes the word trust," said William Lozito, president of Strategic Name Development. "As current members know, and new members will find out, TruStone Financial is a credit union grounded in trust."

The rebranding effort sought a name that was strong, stable and innately positive to convey security in an unstable economic climate. Although the name has changed, TruStone maintains its dedication to the teachers that strengthen its continued pursuit of education and discipline. In addition, the name change encompasses the shift from being a credit union just for teachers, to a credit union that teaches.
