ACCU, CUISPA Team Up
AUSTIN, Texas-The Credit Union Information Security Professionals Association (CUISPA) and the Association of Corporate Credit Unions (ACCU) are collaborating to facilitate online knowledge exchange among IT risk officers for corporate CUs.
Corporates now have direct access to CUISPA's information exchange forum through the ACCU/Corporate Network website.

PEFCU, Tech CU Win Awards
WILLIAMSBURG, Va.-Purdue Employees FCU and Technology CU won the CUNA Technology Council's Best Practices Awards recognizing "outstanding approaches to technology challenges with potential for universal application across the credit union movement."
PEFCU, Lafayette, Ind., won in the sales management category for its new Sales Reporting Model.
San Jose, Calif.-based Technology CU won in the technology infrastructure and miscellaneous categories for its job application tracking system and new splash page created to promote e-statements.
A panel comprised of CUNA Technology Council members selected the winners, without regard to credit union asset size, based on strategy, process, application, and results. For more coverage of the council's recent event, see pages 18-19.

Fraud Alert Service Launched
AUSTIN, Texas-Credit unions will now be able to receive free alerts of pending threats and fraud attempts thanks to the Credit Union Information Security Professionals Association (CUISPA). Any credit union can sign up for the no-charge service; CUISPA said in a statement that it hopes to cut fraud losses with this service, which it compared to a neighborhood watch, by "leveraging cooperation among CU risk and IT departments." CUs are encouraged to contact CUISPA whenever an incident occurs; the association would then evaluate the situation and craft an appropriate alert.
