Texas CU Leader Dolores Cox Passes

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Dolores Cox, who was a grass-roots leader in the growth of Texas credit unions, died Friday at 80.

Her credit union leadership began with managing Harte-Hanks FCU in the 1970s. Cox later became Homeport FCU’s president and CEO. She was ingrained in the establishment of the Texas CU League.

Cox moved to south Texas in 1971 with her husband of 60 years, then Navy Lt. John Cox, now retired.
