WEST, Texas The credit union community escaped damage from the enormous explosion at a fertilizer plant here that killed numerous people and injured more than 150.

The Texas CU Foundation said it contacted every CU in the Texas league’s Central Texas Chapter to assess damage and was told no CUs or employees were affected. Texas Partners FCU is collecting donations for a relief fund.
The Texas league, meanwhile, is holding a jeans day to raise funds for victims of the explosions in Boston and West. Proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross.
