LAKE JACKSON, Texas – Texas Dow Employees CU yesterday rolled out a new package of financial management tools targeted at members between 19 and 25 years old, so-called Generation Y.
The $1.3 billion credit union is holding a contest to choose a spokesperson for the program, dubbed “Young & Free.” Young & Free will engage Generation Y through nontraditional mediums, including a presence on the microsite www.youngfreetexas.com, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter and YouTube, as well as live at any branch of the credit union, where young people can become members and get in on the action.
Starting yesterday, young people will be able to submit and view spokesperson entries and vote for their favorites online at www.youngfreetexas.com. The winning spokesperson will serve as the voice for Young & Free members by attending events and keeping the site fresh with blogs, vlogs and polls that educate, entertain and engage Generation Y.
The spokesperson contest is open to any Texas resident between the ages of 19 and 25. TDECU owns the exclusive rights to "Young & Free" in the state of Texas.
