The Florist FCU Names New President/CEO

The Florist Federal Credit Union, an $8.1-million institution based in Roswell, N.M, said it hired Cisco Malpartida Smith as its new president and CEO, succeeding Kenneth Bell, who is retiring.

"Cisco's outstanding background, passion for the credit union mission, and shared vision for our members make him a great fit for our organization," said Doug Liedtke, chairman of the board in a statement.

Malpartida Smith most recently served as vice president of products and strategy for the $1.8-billion GTE Federal Credit Union of Tampa, Fla. Prior to that he worked for the $15.7-billion Boeing Employees' Credit Union of Tukwila, Wash., in various management roles within products, community relations and marketing.

Malpartida Smith stated that The Florist FCU has "endured for decades through some of the most challenging regulatory and economic times," and added that it is "in a great place to begin the next chapter in its journey at becoming the preferred financial institution of choice for its members and potential members within the floral industry."
