The Summit FCU Grows Through Mergers

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Summit FCU said Friday it has agreed to acquire Syracuse FCU, a $140 million credit union with four branches, to create a $625 million credit union serving 80,000 members.

Both credit unions have positive financials; The Summit reported a $3.1 million net for the first six months of the year and Syracuse FCU had a $200,000 operating net.

It is the third merger for The Summit over the past two years, following deals for Buffalo Telephone Employees FCU and Kenton FCU.
