BATAVIA, N.Y. – Tonawanda Valley FCU awarded a $1,000 grant under its “Pay it Forward” promotion to The Crossroads House, a comfort home for the dying.
The winner was awarded based on a video submission by one of Crossroads’ volunteers that showed the program was run strictly on donations and isn't allowed to collect anything from the residents who come there to live during their last months of life.
Under the Pay It Forward program, community members are asked how they would spend $1,000 they are given.
