Touchdown! Municipal CU enters into partnership with NFL's NY Jets

Municipal Credit Union of New York has entered into a partnership with the NFL's New York Jets, under which MCU will serve as the official credit union of the Jets.

The $2.6 billion-asset credit union also participated in the Jets’ NFL draft on Thursday night, in which the team picked LSU safety Jamal Adams in the first round.

Of special interest to both the Jets and MCU are New York City’s first responders – indeed, MCU will serve as the presenting partner of the Jets' annual First Responders’ game. At that event, the Jets and MCU will honor local first responders, including law enforcement officers, firemen and EMS workers, who will be invited to participate in a special on-field pre-game ceremony.

“We are excited to welcome MCU to our Jets family,” Jets president Neil Glat said in a statement. “With our long-standing commitment to first responders and vital city employees, this relationship is a natural fit. We look forward to working closely with MCU to achieve our shared goals.”

Kam Wong, former president and CEO of Municipal Credit Union. Wong pleaded guilty to charges of embezzlement on Nov. 19, 2019.

MCU will also support the Jets in their efforts to end the epidemic of bullying in a campaign called “Jets Tackle Bullying” which will offer various programs in schools in all five boroughs of the city.

Kam Wong, president and CEO of MCU, commented, “Like the Jets, MCU is a team for New Yorkers. Working together with the New York Jets will allow us to bolster our commitment to the outstanding civil servants who make and keep New York City great. We look forward to working with the Jets as their partner to help make a difference in the lives of New Yorkers and make a lasting impact in the communities we represent.”
