FAIRFIELD, Calif. – The Fairfield Housing Authority announced a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher home ownership sale that was financed by Travis CU.
The new homeowner purchased the home through the Section 8 Homeownership Voucher Program, which helps low-income borrowers buy federally subsidized Section 8 housing by paying a portion of their monthly mortgage payment directly to the primary lender.
Participants must save up funds for their down payment, have good credit history and have sufficient income to qualify for home ownership.
This home purchase was financed through Travis CU and assisted with additional loans from the city of Fairfield's Community Development Block Grant Program and the Northern Solano County Association of Realtor's non-profit arm, Housing American Families, in conjunction with California Association of Realtor's Housing Affordability Funds.
