Truliant Breaks Ground On 19-Acre Campus

The $900-million Truliant FCU has broken ground on a new credit union campus that will comprise more than 17 acres here. The building, to be located at the corner of the newly named "Truliant Way" and Hanes Mall Boulevard, will encompass 120,000 square feet of space. The four-story building also allows for an additional 40,000 square feet of expansion, and will house Truliant's corporate operation, retail center, member service phone center and support operations. The credit union noted that in developing the plans for the new building, it made no request for incentives from the city. Truliant provides a $19-million tax base for both the city and county.

"Having our 225 Truliant employees back together under one roof will allow us to better serve our members," said CEO Marc Schaefer. "Our employees are our greatest asset and this new facility will include amenities designed with them in mind. These include an exercise area, game room, quiet area and walking path around the grounds."

Carolina Investment Properties has been retained to develop the campus. Little Diversified Architectural Consulting is designing the facility and surrounding campus.
