WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Truliant FCU announced last week the granting of a total of $28,000 in mini-grants to almost 30 non-profit agencies in the three states it serves, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Truliant not only provided grant funding, but also conducted grant workshops to assist non-profits in the grant writing process.
To qualify for the grant, community and faith-based agencies had to impact one or more of the following areas: health or human services programs for people of modest means, youth, affordable housing, financial literacy or economic development. The agencies had to provide service to underserved groups and/or to low-to-moderate income areas in communities surrounding Truliant Member Financial Centers.
Among the recipients are: The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Burlington; Latino Coalition of Randolph County; Crime Stoppers of Gaston County; Family Support Network of Central North Carolina; Inter-faith Alliance Organization; Bethesda Center for the Homeless and Low Income Housing Opportunities.
