RALEIGH, N.C. - Truliant Federal Credit Union has launched a new program that provides funding to local non-profits. Called the "Truliant Community Mini-Grant Program," it provides grants to nonprofits can use to support operational costs.
Grantees have to be working in health or human services, youth, affordable housing, financial literacy or economic development to qualify. More than 110 agencies applied for the first round of grants, and 31 received awards, according to Truliant. Among those who received initial funding are the Guilford Education Alliance, The Shepherd's Center of Kernersville, and the Randolph County Family Crisis Center.(c) 2008 The Credit Union Journal and SourceMedia, Inc.
