VISALIA, Calif. – A former member service representative at Tucoemas CU on Friday was sentenced to four months in prison for embezzling more than $48,000 from the accounts of elderly members.
Tamara Navarrette, 28, stole the money when she was a membership representative in the credit union’s Whitendale and Cypress branches, according to authorities.
The members whose accounts were fraudulently accessed ranged in age from 65 to 97.
Before pleading guilty, Navarrette made full restitution.
