SIU Credit Union in Carbondale, Ill., has completed its merger with Menard Credit Union in Chester, Ill.
The $307 million-asset SIU and the $365,000-asset Menard received approval from federal and state regulatory agencies for the combination, according to a Tuesday news release.
Dennis Schaefer, chief executive of SIU CU, will lead the combined institution.
SIU, established in 1938, has six branches in southern Illinois. It has about 37,000 members and serves the Southern Illinois University community and surrounding areas.
Menard was established in 1963 and it has about 360 members.
