MURRIETA, Calif. – Two men were arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon after they beat a man repossessing their pickup truck for a credit union and took back the truck.
The assailants allegedly began beating the repo man as he was trying to attach the truck to a tow, according to police. The unnamed victim got into the truck and was preparing it for transport when he was assaulted by the two male suspects. The repo man reportedly told the suspects that he was repossessing the truck, but they allegedly continued to assault him.
The suspects then allegedly removed the truck from the back of the repossessor’s truck and fled the area in the would-be repossessed truck.
The repossessor suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
Investigators tracked and arrested the suspects.
