SALEM, Mass. – Two men who robbed or tried to rob 11 area banks in 11 days in 2008, then ended after they hit a Digital FCU branch in nearby Nashua, N.H., were each sentenced this week to two-to-five years in state prison.

The robbers, who are both serving federal prison terms in New Hampshire for the credit union heist, told prosecutors they embarked on their robbery spree in the spring of 2008 to pay for their heroin addictions.
The two robbers, Kevin Maloney, 29, of Saugus, Mass., and Jeffrey Monico, 30, of Peabody, Mass., got away with about $11,000 during their spree, according to authorities.
