CONSOL Employees Credit Union in McMurray, Pa., is seeking to merge into Century Heritage Federal Credit Union in Pittsburgh.
The $13 million-asset CONSOL filed an application with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities to merge into the $133 million-asset Century Heritage, according to a document dated Oct. 31.
Both credit unions didn't respond to a request for comment.
CONSOL was founded in 1980, has about 2,417 members and one branch. It lost about $7,900 in the first nine months of 2018, versus a net loss of about $3,100 for the same period last year.
Century Heritage was originally founded in 1936 by employees of the Duquesne Works mill of U.S. Steel. It has 12,586 members and four locations in the metro Pittsburgh area. It earned about $256,000 for the first nine months of 2018, down less than 1 percent from the same period last year.
