PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Members of UFirst FCU, located in this northern outpost on the Canadian border, are being offered 0% financing for loans to heat their homes this winter.

The Home Fuel Loan will provide up to $3,000 in low-cost financing per home and applied to 2008-2009 fuel bills. This loan is for the month of August only with limited available funds on a first-come, first-served basis. It is for the purpose of heating a primary residence only and must be paid in full by Aug. 15, 2009.
The credit union also has started a Fuel Savings Club, giving members an opportunity to put money aside from each paycheck to help with next year's fuel bills.
