Universal Studios Mall Bankruptcy Leaves Telesis Community CU Holding The Bag On $11 Million MBL

ORLANDO, Fla. – International Shoppes LLC, owner of the Windmere shopping center across from the Universal Studios theme park, filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition on Oct. 21, listing Telesis Community CU as the biggest creditor.

The Chatsworth, Calif., credit union is owed $11 million on a secured member business loan, according to the bankruptcy filing.

The $530 million credit union also has run into troubles on multi-million dollar MBLs in Oregon, Tennessee and its home state of California over the past two years.
