University of Iowa Community CU Forecloses On 28 Properties At Troubled Development

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa Community CU foreclosed last week on 28 properties owned by a troubled construction company.

There were $4.3 million in judgment amounts against the properties, which are a mix of houses, apartments and commercial buildings, according to court records. The properties were owned by Eastside Investors LLC and Frantz Construction Co. Inc.

The sheriff's office will sell the properties to the highest bidders July 6.

The foreclosure action is the largest in recent history in the city, according to local officials.
