University Of Wisconsin CU Offers Hurricane Sandy Loan Relief

MADISON, Wis. – University of Wisconsin CU will be providing loan payment relief to 3,500 of its members who are in the path of Hurricane Sandy.

Upon request, members in the affected areas will be afforded up to three months of loan extension at no charge. In addition, late fees on loans and credit cards will be waived.

UW Credit Union said it also is announcing a giving opportunity for members. Beginning today, members will be able to donate directly from their Web Branch accounts to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to assist communities impacted by Hurricane Sandy. When members log in to Web Branch, the credit union’s online banking platform, they will find an icon to click at the top of the main page. Once clicked, members will have the opportunity to make a financial gift with funds coming directly from any of their UW Credit Union accounts.

All funds given by members will be forwarded to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and designated for Hurricane Sandy victims. The American Red Cross provides aid to support the immediate needs for food, water, temporary shelter, medical services and emotional support for disaster victims.
