Veteran CEO to take the helm at Earthmover Credit Union

Kelly McDonough will take over as the new president and chief executive officer of $289 million-asset Earthmover Credit Union on July 8, according to Sarah Hilton, vice president of D. Hilton Associates, which arranged the hiring.

McDonough will succeed interim CEO Noreen Wilkerson, who took the helm in November after CEO Libby Calderone left the Oswego, Ill.-based institution to become president of ICUL Service Corp., the credit union service organization of the Illinois Credit Union System.

McDonough has spent more than three decades in the credit union movement. Her most recent position was at Glacier Hills Credit Union, a $139 million credit union in West Bend, Wis., which she had led as CEO since 2017. Before that, she was the CEO of First Alliance Credit Union, a $198 million-asset institution based in Rochester, Minn., for 13 years. She has also held management-level jobs at Vermont Federal Credit Union (based in Burlington, Vt.; $591 million assets) and New England Federal Credit Union (Williston, Vt.; $1.38 billion).

“I am very much looking forward to making the move to Earthmover Credit Union,” McDonough said in a statement.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt., and a Master of Science in business continuity management from Norwich University in Northfield, Vt.

The privately insured Earthmover CU posted net income of about $991,000 in the first quarter of 2019. (Income data for the first quarter of 2018 was unavailable.) The credit union recorded net income of about $3.95 million in 2018, a 2% rise over 2017.
