NEW YORK – Viewpointe, an electronic image exchange owned by big banks, has agreed to acquire PaymentsNation, a Dallas-based provider of electronic settlements and automatic clearing house services.
The two already are business partners, with PaymentsNation providing ACH services for Viewpointe, one of four major electronic image networks. The newly expanded organization would combine Viewpointe's success with check image clearing, exchange and archive services with PaymentsNation's experience in settlement and ACH. In addition, PaymentsNation is a voting member of NACHA - The Electronic Payments Association, and is one of 21 regional payments associations that provide comprehensive payments education and training.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The other payment networks are: SVPCO also owned by big banks; Endpoint Exchange, owned by Metavante; and the Fiserv network.
