DES MOINES, Iowa – Village CU has been chosen by the Iowa CU League’s Credit Union Family Partnership Program to participate in its individual development account, or IDA, program.
The $8 million credit union will open the savings accounts, and matching funds will come from private grants given to the Iowa CU Foundation.
IDAs are matched savings accounts in which a grant from an organization matches a participant's savings. Savings and matching funds can be used to purchase a specific asset, such as a home; start or expand a small business; pay for education; or buy a vehicle to get to work.
