SAGINAW, Mich. – The Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis has awarded 15 projects a total of $7.2 million in Affordable Housing Program funds, including a $750,000 grant to Wanigas CU of Saginaw, Mich.
The Wanigas grant will to help fund an eight-bedroom transitional housing project for the developmentally disabled persons aged 18 to 26.
Each unit will contain a handicapped accessible bathroom, great room, and full kitchen with a community room on the main floor and an activity room in the basement. The units will be constructed on property adjacent to the school district's transitional center to facilitate movement between classes and the residence. The Saginaw Intermediate School District will provide education and training services to residents.
