LOS ANGELES – Just in time for June wedding bells, Water and Power Community CU is introducing a wedding registry savings account, called MatriMoney, that will help newlyweds start saving for their futures together.
The MatriMoney wedding cash registry allows couples to establish a special interest-bearing savings account which can be used to pool cash wedding gifts towards big ticket items such as honeymoon expenses, furniture or a down payment on a house.
The credit union will give each engaged couple announcement enclosures with information about the account, and gift givers receive cash gift acknowledgement cards to announce their gift to the lucky couple.
When couples complete four financial management classes offered online through the credit union’s website, their first $100 in wedding registry gifts will be matched by the credit union until June 30, 2009.
